A Federal Lawmaker, Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo representing Adamawa North Senatorial District has reacted to Bola Ahmed Tinubu's choice of running mate. The APC senator who was interviewed by AIT said it is insulting for Tinubu to have said he picked Kashim Shettima as running mate because he is competent, and that since he didn't pick a Northern Christian, it means they are not competent enough to pilot the affairs of the Nation. He said the implication of Tinubu's comment means that the Northern Bishops, elites and those in the Academic field are not competent enough to be his running mate.
Senator Elisha Abbo said it is against the Muslim faith for Tinubu to have picked a fellow Muslim, and that he expected the Muslims to cry out telling him they will not accept such. Making reference to the Holy Qur'an, Senator Elisha Abbo said in chapter 4 vs 135, the Quran teaches that the believers should stand for Justice.
Senator Elisha Abbo called on Tinubu to apologize to Christians.
