President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condemnation of the recent killing of Oyibo Chukwu, the senatorial candidate for Enugu East under the Labour Party, along with his aide and several other victims who were injured in the attack.

Buhari stated that the perpetrators of such heinous acts have no regard for human life and must face the consequences of their actions, both naturally and divinely. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to free and fair elections that are devoid of violence or any form of discord, urging all political actors to respect the will of the electorate and exercise their civic rights without fear of intimidation.
Buhari has directed security agencies to track down those responsible for the crime while expressing his sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Labour Party. The President also offered his prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased and comfort for those who mourn.
