On Saturday, Chelsea will take on Manchester City in the Premier League for the first time since the Champions League final.

Since taking over at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel has beaten Pep Guardiola three times, but facing the Premier League winners remains the most difficult of jobs.

When the season comes to a close, it's apparent that both teams will be battling for the championship, and both teams will strive for any edge they can get.

Let's take a look at my possible lineup for this critical matchup with that in mind.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has played well in the last two games, and it's encouraging to see the Spaniard's confidence develop, but today is a game for Edouard Mendy, who has returned to training and is fully recovered from the injury that held him out of the previous two games.

I'd start Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, and Antonio Rudiger in the back three ahead of the Senegal international. They've shown themselves time and time again, and they were the starting three in the Champions League final.

With Mason Mount ruled out, I'd start N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Mateo Kovacic in the midfield. They played the second half of Chelsea's triumph against Tottenham last weekend and were a big cause for the team's improvement.

To guarantee Chelsea have an attacking threat down the right, I would start Reece James at right wing-back. At the present, Marcos Alonso is the favorite to start on the left.

In the frontline, Romelu Lukaku is unmovable, and one of Tuchel's most important decisions is who will partner the Belgian. I'd pick Kai Havertz, who can run behind the City defense but also has the technical ability to drop in and connect play when needed, something Timo Werner lacks.

My potential XI: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Lukaku, Havertz
