Without much doubts, Manchester United football club have endured a rather difficult start to the 2021/2022 season in the Premier League so far.
The Red Devils made some signings during the summer in order to boost their chances of competing with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea for more trophies.
But then, that has not quite gone to plan as Manchester United are currently sitted in 6th position on the Premier League table and have conceded a disappointing 17 goals in 12 league matches so far this season.
And due to that, Manchester United want to solve their defensive issues and are looking to offload young right-back Diogo Dalot when the window opens.
The 22-year-old Portugal International, who joined Manchester United from Porto in 2018 has been in and out of the first-team squad since he made the move.
The young right-back was sent out on loan to AC Milan during the 2020/2021 season where he impressed with two goals and three assists in 34 appearances for AC Milan.
Diogo Dalot returned to Manchester United during the summer and has since made six appearances in all competitions for the club this season.
And now, according to reports from The Sun, Manchester United are set to part ways with Diogo Dalot when the transfer window opens next year.
The reports further claimed that Manchester United want to sign experienced right-back Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid and will need to offload Diogo Dalot in order to fund a transfer bid.
That said, it remains to be seen where Diogo Dalot will continue his developments if he eventually leaves Manchester United when the window opens.
