Don’t Reopen Schools Until 2021, ASUU Tells Federal Government.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities revamp their support to the decision of the Federal Government made earlier to stop Senior Secondary School 3 students from writing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) that was scheduled to commence on August 4.

The Academic Staff Union Of Universities advised the government to lock down schools until 2021 to enables safety measures and adequate preparations, given relevant examples from some African countries like Kenya. The Minister of State for Education in person of Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba had also stated that the government would consult with the four countries under WAEC to agree on a new date.

The Federal Ministry of Education converged with officials of the West African Examination Council in Abuja the nations capital and come to a consensus to announce a new date for the examination.
