Manchester United will be playing their next UEFA Champions League fixture on Wednesday as they host Spanish side Villarreal at the Old Trafford Stadium. Two equally matched teams will be locking horns in the UEFA Champions League as they look to secure their first three points of the competition this season. The Red Devils lost their opening Champions League fixture to Young Boys while Villarreal played an intense draw with Italian side Atalanta. Both sides have all it takes to win the fixture as the match outcome is very difficult to predict.
Well, in today's article I will be sharing two reasons why I believe Manchester United might lose to Villarreal in their next Champions League fixture.
1, Man United's Inability To Prevent An attacking-minded Team From Scoring.
Villarreal once condemned Manchester United to a heart-breaking defeat in the UEFA Europa League final last season when they defeated the Red Devils on penalties. The Spanish Side doesn't play defensively as they are known for their high press during games. Manchester United are prone to conceding goals against an attacking-minded side as they have only kept one clean sheet this season. Villarreal's style of play isn't friendly as they will definitely ply up the pressure against a weak defensive-minded team in Manchester United. The Spanish Side might exploit Manchester United's defence weakness in the match which will give them the opportunity to score goals due to their prolific attacking players. There is a huge chance of Manchester United conceding a goal against Villarreal.
2, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's Poor Tactics.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has been criticised severally by fans due to his poor tactics during games. The Norwegian Manager's poor tactics and team selections this season has really led to the downfall of Manchester United in some crucial matches. The 48-year-old isn't tactically inclined as he is prone to making a bad decision when Man United face Villarreal on Wednesday. If his poor tactics came into play against Villarreal on Wednesday, Man United might unfortunately lose their second fixture of the competition this season.
