The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore has alleged that the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi winning Lagos state is strategic. Sowore argued that Peter Obi's votes should have surpassed the numbers being displayed by INEC. Peter Obi who won Lagos state with just over 20,000 votes ahead of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Sowore contended in an Arise Tv interview that elections didn't take place in many areas in Lagos state due to the invasion of Thugs. He also stressed the fact that while Peter Obi and his party were celebrating their victory in Lagos, massive rigging was allegedly going on in other states across the Federation.
He said, 'There is no better improvement from what they did in 2019. This time they managed to fool even those who thought election was going to happen. They abandoned Lagos state for Obi to win just to say the election was free and fair. They were rigging the election elsewhere so that you can have that feeling that it's free and fair. If you can have the opposition defeat the regular on their turf. It was a strategic plan to fool Nigerians.''
