Today, it was reported in the news that John Onaiyekan, who happens to be a former Catholic archbishop of Abuja, has said that it doesn’t make much sense, for the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to be sworn in before the conclusion of the election tribunal.
It was reported that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected to be sworn in as president on May 29, as his election victory, is being challenged in court by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
Recall that on Wednesday, the presidential election tribunal fixed May 8 for the hearing of the petitions
However, while Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who happens to be one of the official spokespersons to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during this year's election, was reacting to the call, he said the Nigerian people have spoken with their votes already.
He said, "To Cardinal John Onaiyekan and those that share his views that the swearing in of our President-elect should be postponed until after the Election Tribunal has delivered its judgement I say the following. The Nigerian people have spoken and the Deep State conspiracy to stop Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from becoming President failed long ago and we are well past that stage and you cannot stop a moving train."
Further talking, he said those people that have hardened their hearts, and that have also refused to accept God's will and admonition to let Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian people go shall, like Pharaoh, shall perish before their very own eyes. And that those that are filled with bitterness, hate, envy, fury and rage, that seek to pursue Tinubu into the Red Sea, as he makes his way to the Promise Land, shall be drowned by it.
Fani-Kayode claimed that, whether these people like it or not, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, shall be sworn-in on May 29th, and those that want him dead or wish him ill, shall see the grave long before he does. This is the doing of the Lord and it is marvellous in our sight.
