Check Out The Reason Why President Buhari Fired IGP Adamu Even Before His 3 Months Extension Elapsed

Former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu's 3 months service extension was terminated due to a completion of the selection process for a new Inspector General.

This was revealed by Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Police Affairs. Earlier, the Minister announced the approval of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba as Acting Inspector General of Police with immediate effect.

This comes even as the News Agency of Nigeria on February 4th, reported that outgoing IGP Adamu's tenure had been extended by 3 months by President Muhammadu Buhari. However, Adamu only spent 2 months and 3 days out of his service extension before he was fired. He was on an official assignment to Imo state when he got news of his sack.

Some gunmen on Tuesday morning forcefully attempted to break into a police Station in Ebonyi state. However, they were met with superior firepower by men of the Nigerian Police who killed one of the gunmen.

But this did not happen without one of the gallant Policemen sustaining an injury and being rushed to the hospital.

Igbudo Police Station in Ebonyi LGA was where the took place. It happened at about 2 am.
