Police Announce Manhunt For Yakubu Shehu, Offer N1m Reward On Him

The Bauchi State Police Commander has declared Yakubu Shehu, a member of the House of Representatives, wanted for alleged murder.

NAN reports that the police have also issued a reward of N1m on him.

The lawmaker represents Bauchi Federal Constituency in the lower house of the National Assembly.

Yakubu is wanted for a case of criminal conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm, inciting public disorder and culpable homicide.

Ahmed Wakil, the Bauchi police spokesman, issued a special police gazette on Tuesday announcing a manhunt for him.

“Police are seeking anyone with valid information that will lead to his arrest for questioning and criminal charges,” the bulletin said.

“Anyone with information that could assist in his arrest should contact 08151849417 or report to their nearest police station.”

Police urged anyone with useful information about his whereabouts to contact authorities.

The lawmaker was elected to the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

He defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022 but subsequently chose a senatorial ticket on the platform of the New Nigerian People's Party (NNPP).
