Reno Omokri Reacts After An Okada Man Won House Of Reps Election In Kaduna Under Labour Party

Donatus Matthew, the okada man who emerged as the member-elect for the Kaura Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the Labour Party has continued to generate reactions among Nigerians. And one of those who reacted was Reno Omokri, the former aide to ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan.

Reno Omokri said that the victory of Donatus Matthew at the polls is a demonstration of democracy in its purest form, and added that this was possible because of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the party. He said that they have done a lot in the development of democracy in Nigeria.

In the post he made via his verified Twitter handle, and also reported by Daily Post, he said - "Under Labour, an okada rider, Donatus Matthew, won election to the House of Representatives in Kaduna. This is democracy in its purest form. For this, I thank Peter Obi and the Labour Party. Both of them have done much to deepen our democracy."

In a recent interview with The Punch, Donatus Matthew said that what inspired him to contest the election was because of the issues and problems they have been facing in Kaura Local Government Area, and to a larger extent, the state and national levels. And that he adopted the ideologies of the Labour Party and the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in particular. He said that was one of the things that drew their attention.

He said that he joined the Labour Party to work for Peter Obi then, but later on, several people started to urge him to join the contest, which he did reluctantly.

He said that he wants to give people the credible leadership they expect.
