Two Chelsea players got their name on spotlight after an awful performance for Germany on Wednesday. Germany got a shocking defeat from North Macedonia after failing to capitalize on most of their chances leading to a shocking scoreline against the ‘Deutschland’.
Timo Werner missed a sitter from close range, badly misfiring his only shot of the match after replacing his fellow Chelsea teammate Kai Havertz, but thanks to Ilkay Gundogan equalizer from penalty spot that cancelled out Goran Pandev's opener in the 63’ minutes of the match but couldn't help Germany with a point.
[Kai Havertz] fell short of expectations following a drastic performance for Germany in their defeat to North Macedonia. The Chelsea ace has been struggling for match consistency since making a eye-watering big money move to Stamford Bridge. Similar issue is facing his fellow compatriot Timo Werner.
The pair have fallen short of expectations at Chelsea, since their arrival in a deal worth over £120m over the summer. Considering their time under Frank Lampard, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner were tagged the biggest flop at the Bridge but, Thomas Tuchel is doing everything in his power to get the duo to their respective form that made Chelsea to secure their service from Bayern Leverkusen and RB Leipzig.
Kai Havertz have registered only five(5) goals in 32 outings across all competition for Chelsea, while Timo Werner has managed a total of ten(10) goals in 39 games.
However, their struggles at Stamford Bridge could be traced to the fact that the duo Chelsea ace are arguably adapting to new and different pattern of football in the English league compared to German pattern of play. Moreover, Chelsea have backed their players to return to their deadly form as they continue to press on for their previous form that made Chelsea to dash in for the two Germans.
And, on the evidence of Wednesday night, their poor form at club level got exposed on International duty as the two players fell out of expectations for Germany national team and could'nt help their country as they got nailed 2-1 by North Macedonia. But, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner have left behind that disappointment and are now looking forward to star for Chelsea and help them seal a top four qualification in the premier league and secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Your Thoughts, do you think Kai Havertz and Timo Werner needs time to adapt to English league or Chelsea should look for alternative?.
