Most Capped Super Eagles Players

Nigeria's football history is rich with talented players who have made significant contributions to the sport. Among them, a select few have left a lasting impact on the Nigerian national team, earning them the most international caps. This article has highlighted the top six players in terms of international appearances for the Nigerian Super Eagles.

The fifth spot goes to Nwankwo Kanu, who earned 86 caps while playing for the Nigerian national team from 1994 to 2010. Kanu was an instrumental player in Nigeria's success in the FIFA U17 World Cup competition in Japan, where he scored five goals. He also earned a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games with the Super Eagles.

Mudashiru Lawal, who played for the national team between 1975 and 1985, is at number four with 87 caps and 12 goals. He led Nigeria to its first African Nations Cup title in 1980 and was the only player from Africa to appear in five straight finals of the tournament.

At number three is John Obi-Mikel, who earned 87 caps and six goals for the Super Eagles between 2006 and his retirement. The former captain of the national team made his debut in 2005 and was an integral part of the team that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Joseph Yobo, with 101 caps, is at number two. Yobo captained the team from 2001 until 2014 and participated in six Africa Cup of Nations and three FIFA World Cups. He played for the Nigerian U20 team that won the 1999 Fifa U20 World Cup.

Vincent Enyeama, with 101 caps, holds the second position He was a part of the Super Eagles team from 2002 until his retirement in 2015 and was their captain in 2013. Enyeama made his debut in 2002 and was the goalkeeper in Nigeria's 2010 World Cup campaign, where he was named the team's best player.

Ahmed Musa rounds up the list with 109 caps for Nigeria and he has not retired yet.
