A few days before the election, Desmond Elliot, the Lagos state legislator who represents the Surulere I constituency, donated transformers. An on-air personality in Nigeria by the name of Do2dtun has responded to this.
Desmond, a candidate for a third term as a lawmaker in Lagos, gave transformers to his district on Thursday.
Desmond said he had commissioned the installation of high capacity transformers in Surulere in a post shared on social media announcing the commissioning of the transformers.
In Surulere, new high-capacity transformers have been installed, bringing dependable electricity to communities that have long needed it, the official declared.
Do2dtun responded via a tweet on his Twitter account, saying the lawmaker was only making the donation to buy the support of his constituents.
"Desmond, who was unable to purchase a power bank for his electorate, all of a sudden purchases eight transformers a few days before the election. Is it not clear that these guys don't give a damn? Desmond Export and import, he continued.
