In his bid to alleviate poverty among the people of his Senatorial Zone and Anambra people, by extension; the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly and Leader of Young Progressives Party (YPP), Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, yesterday succeeded in facilitating the disbursement of cash grants to each of over 100 women in Aguata Local Govt of Anambra South.
These women could not hide their joy as most of them, who hitherto experienced challenges due to financial constraints can now expand their various petty businesses, as this Federal Government assistance means a lot to them.
The programme tagged RURAL WOMEN CASH GRANT PROGRAMME IN ANAMBRA STATE which took place yesterday, Wednesday, 3rd February, 2021, at Omeke Hall, Awka Road, Ekwulobia,Aguata LG was sponsored by the Federal Government through the Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management And Social Development. The programme was attracted by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who remains dogged in his bid to continue bringing dividends of democracy to his people through good and responsible representation.
Recall that on Sunday, the Anambra South Senator in partnership with the Presidency and Nigerian Ports Authority, empowered over two hundred and fifty youths and women in Ezira, Orumba South Local Government Area of the state. During the event, the beneficiaries who have received a three-day vocational and skills acquisition training received various working tools like sowing machines, complete make-up kits, hair dressing tools, electric ovens, electric grinders, deep freezers, LED flat panel display televisions and cash.
