Smart Adeyemi, a senator from Kogi West Senatorial District, has recommended that, when Bola Tinubu becomes president, he should question Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The senator said that, the CBN's decision to redesign Naira notes, was a deliberate effort to thwart Tinubu's presidential aspirations. He made this claim, in an interview with Channels Television.
He asserted that, the policy that sparked controversy in the nation earlier this year, should be made public and the governor of the top bank, should be required to defend it.
"Back then, a calculated effort was made, to prevent the APC from winning the election," he claimed. Where are the new Naira notes, if they are revamping the currency, as claimed?
They disappear from circulation over time. Nigeria would have descended into chaos, if the judiciary had remained silent.
If I were Tinubu, I would invite Emefiele and other people, to come and explain what transpired, and the rationale behind the revamping of Naira notes, as soon as I take office.
