Why Obi Cubana Has Not Yet Been Released By EFCC Despite Being Granted Bail

Following the news of Obi Cubana's arrest by the EFCC on Monday, reports had emerged yesterday that the socialite has been released by the anti-graft agency after about 24 hours. Many people had reasons to believe the report when Obi Cubana took to his verified Instagram page to make a post saying that he is unbroken.

His arrest had caused a stir on social media, and had drawn support from celebrities in the country, with some of them sharing his photos on social media with the hashtag "FreeObiCubana.

In their reaction, EFCC debunked the reports of his release, and said that the socialite is still in their custody. The agency said that they have granted him what is known as "administrative bail", but that he is yet to meet with the conditions of the bail. So at the time of this report, the socialite is still in EFCC's custody. So even though they granted him bail, there are certain conditions he has to meet before they release him.

The commission said that the socialite is still having a quality time with the investigators over alleged money laundering that runs into millions of naira and tax evasion.

Obi Cubana is answering questions from the agency on his alleged involvement in the crimes, and they will release him after he has provided satisfactory answers to those questions.

So it appears the questions are part of the conditions attached to his bail.

Many are waiting to know what will be the outcome of the case. And hopefully, more details on it will emerge today.
