Every day of Delay Means Someone Dies: Ukraine's Foreign Minister Urges Allies to hasten supplies.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, has urged Ukraine's allies to accelerate the delivery of ammunition, citing that each day of delay could result in loss of life on the frontlines.

In an interview with BBC, Kuleba highlighted that Ukraine's Western partners had been slow in providing military assistance because they were not prepared for a conflict on the same scale as World War I. He underlined the country's urgent need for artillery shells, particularly in Bakhmut, where Ukrainian forces have been defending against repeated Russian attacks for over seven months.

Kuleba stressed that the situation in Bakhmut was "emotionally very challenging" due to the significant loss of life, and if the city were to fall, other cities would be at risk. Therefore, it was imperative to fight for Bakhmut as long as possible to save lives. Kuleba had previously discussed Ukraine's "peace formula" and ways to expedite the supply of artillery ammunition with US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.

The foreign minister's plea for swift action highlights the dire situation on the frontlines, where Ukrainian soldiers are engaged in a protracted conflict against Russian-backed separatists. The conflict, which began in 2014, has claimed the lives of more than 13,000 people and displaced over 1.5 million others. Despite a ceasefire agreement in place, sporadic fighting continues, and the situation remains volatile.

Ukraine has been seeking international support in its fight against Russian aggression, but the response has been tepid at best. The country's allies have been reluctant to provide direct military assistance, fearing an escalation in the conflict. However, with the situation on the ground worsening, the need for support has become increasingly urgent.

Kuleba's appeal comes at a critical juncture, with tensions between Ukraine and Russia escalating in recent weeks. Russia has amassed tens of thousands of troops along Ukraine's border, prompting fears of an imminent invasion. In response, Ukraine has mobilized its military and sought diplomatic support from its allies.

The situation in Ukraine remains highly volatile, and the need for international support has never been greater. Kuleba's plea for swift action is a stark reminder of the human cost of the conflict and underscores the urgent need for a peaceful resolution.
