A chieftain of the PDP and the former DG of the NOA, Mike Omeri, has spoken about how the Obidients movement disproved his party's claim that they lacked structures. Omeri claimed in his interview that people's yearning for Peter Obi to become president helped the LP win typical PDP support.
Addressing the topic, Omeri said, "You may recall that ahead of the presidential election, we kept saying the Obidients had no structures. However, the Obidients conducted the election to win, not to manipulate. The age brackets of INEC officials fall within the majority that propelled the Obidient movement.
He added, "They brought some sense of responsibility to conducting the election because they were dedicated to pursuing the cause in most of the places I saw. I did not say that INEC officials within that age bracket did anything manipulative, but I am saying that they conducted a peaceful electoral exercise. There were instances of thuggery and disruption by those who were used to doing it, but those who conducted the election did OK.
