The insecurity in the southeastern part of Nigeria has become a thing of concern and worry for many Nigerians.
The insecurity in the Southeast took a different turn when several attacks were launched on government facilities and security formations across the region. Innocent people have also been targeted by the attackers.
Recall that in one of the attacks, Dr. Chike Akunyili, the husband of the former Director of NAFDAC, late Professor Dora Akunyili was killed in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The attacks were allegedly carried out by unknown gunmen who have been terrorizing the southeast.
Several Nigerians and religious groups have called for a possible solution to end the menace of unknown gunmen in the southeast.
It is as a result of this the archbishops of different Christian denominations in the southeast region spoke against the level of insecurity in the region.
According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, the archbishops revealed that the southeast land is soaked with blood because of the level of insecurity going on in the region.

The archbishops who noted that the insecurity in the southeast cannot be allowed to continue, further revealed that the plight of Igbo youths, their family members, and other people living in the southeast has become a major concern.
The clergymen who revealed that the people of the southeast are industrious and creative lamented that the people are now living in fear because of the insecurity.
The religious leaders were able to reveal the current reality in the Southeast region which may convince the unknown gunmen allegedly perpetrating the attacks to know that there is no alternative to peace.

Without peace nothing can be achieved, the commercial business in the southeast has been greatly affected and people now live in fear.

There is no alternative to peace, grievances can be resolved without the use of violence and attacks. The revelations of the bishops on the effects of the insecurity on the ordinary people may likely convince the gunmen to know there is no alternative to peace.
