The Largest Airport On The African Continent Is An Architectural Marvel(Photos)

Africa is second largest and second most populous country in the world after Asia. Known as the Black Continent, Africa account for about 16% of the world's total population and about 20% of Earth's land.

There are over a thousand airport on the Africa continent each with it's unique shape,design and style of building and operation. But as we all know comparison will surely set in and we humans will definitely differentiate them base on their mode of operation ( Local or international), it's size, location, architectural marvels/design etc.

In other not to bore you day with much words, On this article I will be showing you the O.R Tampo International Airport which holds the spot at the largest airport on the African continent.

The O.R Tampo International Airport is located in Gauteng in South Africa. It was established in 1952 and was named after South Africam anti apathy politician Oliver Reginard Tambo. Apart from holding the record at the largest airport in Africa, it is also one of the busiest with 28million passengers annually.

The airport runways are also one of the longest in Africa, They measure about 3400 and 4400 meter in length.

South Africa is know to have some of Africa's best infrastructure and the O.R Tampo International is definitely an architectural marvels. A well equipped and develop airports plays an important role in a counties economic because it facilitates trade, improve tourism, create jobs and in general improve the country's image international.
