A wanted bandit leader, Ado Aleru, has been crowned as the Sarkin Fulani (The King of Fulani) of Yandoton Daji Emirate in Zamfara State. The turbaning ceremony was held on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

According to the report, Ado Aleru is the leader of the bandit group that is terrorising both the Katsina and Zamfara communities.
He was declared wanted by the Katsina Police Command in 2019 with a bounty of 5 million Naira on his head.

A reputable news platform, Premium Times, had earlier raised an alarm over the plan to turban the bandit as Sarkin Fulani.

Zamfara is one of the states affected by banditry and terrorism. The governor of the state, Bello Matawalle, recently asked the residents of the state to defend themselves against the armed bandits.
However, many social media users have reacted to the photos of the turbaning ceremony of the bandit kingpin as the king of Fulani.
