The Balon D'Or Award is one award that every player would like to win at least once in their life. This year's Balon D'Or 30-man list has been released and so many Chelsea players have been included in that list due to their successes last season. Jorginho immensely contributed to that Chelsea team and the midfielder also played a major role in Italy's amazing run in the Euro 2021 championship that gave them the trophy.
Jorginho has already been named the UEFA Men's Best Player of the year and he is also among the players that are likely to finish in the Balon D'Or top three (3). Jorginho won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and also the Euro 2021 championship. Jorginho and Italy failed to win the UEFA Nations League after they were eliminated by Spain in the semi-finals. However, Italy eventually beat Belgium in third place.
Thomas Tuchel does not agree about the Balon D'Or Award. He is what he said about Jorginho about the Balon D'Or Award;
"He deserves it, he is one of those who deserves to win the Ballon d'Or. He is a very intelligent player and it's a pleasure to be his coach. These awards do not make much sense to me the players crave these awards but it is impossible to make a real comparison between all these players. Who should say is the best, everyone deserves to win it from a certain point of view."
The German tactician has no doubt played a key role in Jorginho's development as he built his team around the Italian midfielder. With Tuchel backing the midfielder, it will go a long way to give Jorginho the confidence to reach new heights in his tactical gameplays. Jorginho still has almost a month to clear doubts over his position in that Balon D'Or race.
