Mr. Hope Uzodinma is the only APC governor whom was elected in the southeast region. It is true that the APC currently has two governors including Mr Dave Umahi. But it's Hope Uzodinma who should encourage Andy Uba to approach the court.
The APC candidate in the Anambra State poll, Mr. Andy Uba, has released a statement and he gave concrete reasons why he rejected the outcome of the seriously contested election. Therefore, it is now the duty of Hope Uzodinma to boost the morale of Uba.
Mr. Uzodinma, Imo State Governor, has been in the same shoes as Uba. He also initially lost the election. INEC, the electoral body, had initially gave the returning ticket to the PDP candidate, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha. But Uzodinma didn't give up.
He actually came third in the election just as Andy Uba did in the Anambra State. But Uzodinma didn't give up. He summoned courage and asked the court to declare him the elected governor of the state. He dragged the case to the Supreme Court and eventually emerged. He should narrate his experience to Andy Uba so as to encourage the politician from Anambra State.
Mr. Hope Uzodinma used some legal teams in his quest to get his mandate. And it is often advised that the winning team shouldn't be changed. He can just help Andy Uba to consult the team of legal luminaries. They can be urged to work for Andy Uba in Anambra State.
Apart from that, the Imo State Governor can be regarded to as the only elected APC governor in the whole southeastern part of Nigeria. Actually, Mr. Dave Umahi is now an APC governor. But the Ebonyi State governor joined the APC: he was not elected on the platform of the party.
It is now important for Uzodinma to persuade th leadership of the APC that in order for the APC to gain more ground in the Igbo land, it is pertinent for the leadership to pursue the Anambra State election in the court. Gradually, the lovely Igbo people are embracing the APC.
If Uzodinma can convince the APC leadership, Andy Uba would get more hands and he will be encouraged to fight for his mandate.
