Governor Nyesom Wike has responded to Bola Tinubu's recent statement about his demand for a refund on the cost of flyover bridges built by the Rivers State government. Tinubu had refused to refund the money, saying he owed Wike nothing. However, Wike claimed that Tinubu's statement about not owing him had been taken out of context, and people were ignoring the part where he asked Tinubu to lobby for him.
During a state banquet held in Tinubu's honor, Wike said that people were only discussing the part where Tinubu refused to refund the money but had ignored the part where he asked Tinubu to lobby for him. He emphasized that he did not owe Tinubu anything but that Tinubu would have to lobby him if he needed anything.
Governor Wike urged people to ignore online conversations about the incident, stating that he would not listen to anyone lobbying him. He made it clear that he was not bothered by people's negative comments about him and that he would not be distracted from his responsibilities as the Governor of Rivers State.
