PSG: Messi to leave Paris Saint German on a free transfer in June

Lionel Messi will reportedly leave Paris Saint German when his contract expires at the end of the June.

The Argentina international penned a two years contract with the French giants in the summer of 2021 after leaving Barcelona due to their financial problems.

The agreement included the option to renew the deal for another year, taking him until next June.

The World Cup champion was denied permission to travel to Saudi Arabia earlier this week, and as a result, PSG has given him a two-week suspension.

Messi allegedly asked for permission to make the trip in order to carry out commercial work with the experienced forward, a tourism ambassador for Saudi Arabia.

However, PSG refused to allow the forward permission, and he has now been suspended for two weeks. He will miss some games against Troyes and Ajaccio and will not train with the club.

Messi played on 37 times for his team during the 2022–2023 season, contributing to 20 goals and 16 assists. The Argentine also scored four goals and four assists in seven champions league games. But in the competition's round of 16, Bayern Munich eliminated PSG.

In Ligue 1 this season, Messi has also tallied 15 goals and 15 assists.
