Gunmen Abduct APC LG Secretary In Rivers

Gunmen said be dressed in police uniform have kidnapped a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr.Osaronu Adiele Amadi.

Amadi who is the Secretary of APC in the local government has also been designated the collation agent for the party in the area.

He was reportedly abducted abducted by gunmen from his residence in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government on Wednesday,March 16.

Wike Tasks Christian Leaders On Unity

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has urged the leadership and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the State not to allow politicians, especially those who are desperate for votes, to set them against each other.

Governor Wike gave the advice during an interactive session with the leadership and critical stakeholders of the Rivers State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Port Harcourt.

DSS Secures Order To Detain NNPP Supporters Till Elections Are Over

The Department of State Security Service (DSS) has secured a Court order to detain arrested supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) till Saturday’s elections are over.

A Kano Magistrate’s Court presided over by Aminu Gabari granted the order on the reasons for continued investigation.

The secret Police had earlier sought for three weeks order to detain the suspects but did not succeed.

Less than forty-eight hours to the March 18 rescheduled governorship and the house of assembly elections, alignment, and re-alignment amongst political parties continue.

To this end, executives of the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have adopted the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Umar Bago for the exercise.

They said he is a well-equipped and more prepared candidate for the task of good governance.
