Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu may be the main politician in the southwestern part of the country that may be the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Following the decision of all the southern governors in Lagos to support a southern politician as President in the year 2023 general election, Tinubu is the leading politician who is capable of taking up the position of the flag bearer of the ruling party ahead of the incoming presidential election.

Many people have been projecting Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be the next candidate of the party, but things may not go as people have been thinking. Many factors may convince Tinubu not to contest in the upcoming presidential election again in the year twenty twenty-three general election. Tinubu has been in London for a while due to his health issues, and many politicians have been going to London to pay him courtesy visits here and there. Tinubu is a politician who knows the procedures and implications of every political step.

The former Governor of Lagos State may consider his health and therefore drop his presidential election ambitions concerning the upcoming 2023 polls. Tinubu can further endorse and support other politicians in the southern part of the country as the flag bearer of the party in the next presidential election. If Tinubu will support a politician after he has dropped ambitions, it will be from the following people.
1) Professor Yemi Osinbajo

The current vice-president of the country, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo may be Tinubu's favourite candidate to be the flag bearer of the party based on the fact that Tinubu was one of those politicians who backed him solidly before Osinbajo became President Muhammadu Buhari's vice president. With Osinbajo's experience at the Aso Rock Villa, he will be able to deliver for the country. Tinubu can endorse Yemi Osinbajo as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the year 2023.
2) Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has previously shown interest in becoming the next presidential candidate for the ruling party even though he is much aware that he will not be able to outsmart Tinubu. Tinubu can consider Kayode Fayemi as the flag bearer of the party in the next presidential election because of his boldness and political vibrancy. Kayode Fayemi is the leader of APC's Governors' Forum in the southwest geopolitical zone, and he is going to the position to influence more people.
3) Peter Obi from Anambra State

If Tinubu does not consider the aforementioned members of his party above, Tinubu can extend his endorsement to the opposition party and support Peter Obi as the next president of the country. Whenever we are talking about national elections, Peter Obi is not a novice because he participated actively in the last presidential election. Tinubu can endorse either Yemi Osinbajo, Kayode Fayemi and Peter Obi as the next president of the country if he drops ambitions.
