Former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would still have lost even with the backing of the G5 Governors.
Sani also claimed that those leaders were powerless individuals and that their actions could not have changed anything.
On Monday, he posted a message using his verified Twitter account that included his declaration.
Recall that in the recently concluded February 25 presidential election, the G5 Governors steadfastly declined to declare their support for Atiku.
Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Seyi Makinde were also present. (Oyo).
The G5 Governors, according to Sani, were unaware that the people no longer follow the governors' orders without question.
It would have made no difference if the G5 had supported HE Atiku.Even talking about supporting their presidential nominee wasn't enough for them to control themselves. They didn't understand that the populace has moved past obeying governors' orders and now begs them instead," he wrote.
