"Super Eagles are to play international Friendlies with South America and Africa teams" - says NFF

Nigeria national team, the Super Eagles are to play two international friendly matches in September and October according to Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick.

According to ScoreNigeria, the NFF president said the matches will take place during FIFA calendar break for the international Friendlies, and the Super Eagles are to play a South America team and possibly an Africa team.

In an interview with the newsmen in an Instagram live-chat, on Nigeria Football Federation official account, he said:

“The arrangement is 70% confirmed, we hope to make use of the FIFA windows in both September and October.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were about to play Africa cup of Nations double-header qualifiers in March before it was postponed due to the emergence of Covid-19 pandemic.

But with almost all the recognized leagues in Europe have started playing again, there is probability that the international matches will commenced in September.

The Super Eagles last match was in November 2019, when the 2019 Africa cup of Nations Bronze winner defeated Lesotho 4-2 in Maseru.

2021 Africa cup of Nations that was set to play in Cameroon has now been moved to 2022 by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).
