In a meeting with the Queen of Netherland, Ms Zorreguieta, the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has asked for funds to develop the Nation. President Buhari stated his efforts on the development of the Nation through all sectors especially in Agriculture.
President Muhammadu Buhari while expressing his thought to the Dutch Queen said: "We have the land. We have the people. Capital input is what we need." President Buhari clearly stated how native farmers have welcomed the modern way of farming and technical knowledge needed.
President Buhari also stated at the bilateral meeting on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly which held in New York with the presence of the Dutch Queen, he said: ”People went back to the land, and this helped us tremendously. We made fertilizers available, resuscitated dams, and it all paid off handsomely. Otherwise, with about 200 million people, we would have been in trouble when COVID-19 struck and affected the economy.”
President Muhammadu gave his words to the Queen promising an improvement in the state of infrastructure before the Queens next visit to Nigeria. In the same token, the Queen also gave her words promising to be there with other partners to see the infrastructural growth of the Nation especially in the Agricultural sector.
