When your partner is planning on how to see your parents, there are some things you might need to do to make him feel more comfortable. Since you know your family more than anyone else, you need to educate him on the likes and dislikes of your family so he doesn't feel nervous in front of your parents. You should know that most guys feel very nervous to meet their girlfriend's parents for the first time and you have to calm him down.
1. Tell him all he needs to know about your family. He might need to know some very important things about your family so he doesn't feel confused when he gets to your family's house. The names of your siblings and some other things are very necessary for him to feel at home when he finally goes to your family.
2. Let him know what your parents like or dislike. You might need to tell him the style of outfit your parents like and the style they also frown at. You can also educate him on the choice of words to use when he decides to speak to them. Telling him to drop some bad habits of his might not be a bad idea.
3. Give him a clue on the questions your parents might ask. You might have an idea of the kind of questions your parents would throw at him and giving him a clue is a right thing to do. This will help him to prepare very well in order not to stutter in the presence of your parents.
4. Make him feel calm. Before he goes to see your parents, it is normal for him to feel a little bit tensed and you can help him by making him calm. Tell him how loving and gentle your parents are, this would make him feel relaxed.
