Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has said that Nigerian presidents have no need to seek medical treatment abroad following the inauguration of the N21 billion Presidential Wing of the State House Medical Centre, reports Channels Television.
She stated this while speaking to State House correspondents during the commissioning ceremony of the facility which is situated in the premises of Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to her, she conceived the idea of the wing about six years ago following her husband’s extensive stay abroad for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, many Nigerians who reacted to the news story on the issue posted on Channels Television’s Twitter handle wondered why the First Lady didn't advise her husband not to travel abroad for treatment.
Some say her readiness to advise other presidents to use the medical facility when she didn't advise her husband to do so in 8 years smacks of hypocrisy.
