5 Nigerian eligible goalkeepers playing for English clubs

Nigeria's top 3 goalkeepers at the moment are Maduka Okoye who plays in the Eredivisie, Francis Uzoho, who plays in the Cyprian league, and Daniel Akpeyi who plays in South Africa. Five Nigerian eligible goalkeepers playing in England could take over from them if the federation follows them up.

1. Josh Oluwayemi.

The Nigerian goalkeeper is 20 years old, he was born in 2001, and he currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur. Last year, he was sent out on loan to Maidenhead United to have a feel of professional football, and he didn't disappoint.

He represented England at the Under-15, Under-16, and Under-18 levels. Josh got a call-up to represent Nigeria against Mexico in a friendly in 2021, and he intends to be a regular face for the Nigerian national team.

2. Arthur Okonkwo.

The current Arsenal goalkeeper was born in London, he is a tall and modern-day goalkeeper. He represented England at different youth levels but is still eligible to represent Nigeria because he's not yet played for any senior national team.

3. Daniel Jinadu.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper used to play for Chelsea and West Ham, but he is now in Barnsley. After representing England at the Under-15 and Under-16 levels, Jinadu switched allegiance to Nigeria and was Nigeria's goalkeeper at the 2019 Under-17 world cup.

4. Prince Adegoke.

He just clocked 18 years old as he was born in November 2003 in Farnborough England. He never liked football, but when he was made to play, he couldn't stop playing.

Not only that, but he joined Chelsea at a young age and Nigeria has been on his case since 2019 when he got his first call up to play for the Golden Eaglets. His dad explained that Prince didn't turn up because Chelsea didn't release him as the invitation was like he was coming for a trial and aside from that, he had exams and an international tournament with Chelsea.

5. Owen Olamidayo Goodman.

The 17-year-old recently represented England at the Under-18 levels, but he is still eligible to play for Nigeria. He is currently with Crystal Palace and just signed his professional contract some months ago.
