2023: Peter Obi Speaks On Being Atiku’s Running Mate

Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, stated on Monday that he has entered the "match" for the 2023 general elections and that he has no intention of working for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's presidential candidate.

On Monday evening, on Channels Television, Obi stated that he had everything necessary to defeat Atiku.

Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, was Atiku's running mate in the 2019 presidential election; however, despite his famed eloquence, the pair lost to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

In the run-up to the 2023 elections, Obi "divorced" Atiku and decided to run as the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.

Atiku stated in an interview with Arise TV last Friday that Obi could not accomplish a miracle to win the 2023 presidential election.

However, when asked on Channels TV about the potential of him working with Atiku if the opportunity occurred, Obi stated that he was in the race to win and that he had what it took to do so.

As Obi stated, "No one enters a match anticipating the outcome. Everyone enters with the intention of winning. I am entering this competition to become the next President of Nigeria. I believe I have what it takes to win. "
