Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose has reacted to the recent protests and court cases filed by the People's Democratic Party and the Labour Party against the emergence of Tinubu as the president-elect. The PDP chieftain was speaking during a recent interview where he revealed why it was needless for the opposition to be protesting against the outcome of the election.
He further stated that it would have been a different ball game had it been the INEC had not announced the president-elect. He said the moment the president-elect was announced, there was no longer a need to protest.
He also revealed that the idea initially was that either Peter Obi or Tinubu would emerge because they wanted the presidency to go the South. He then thanked the North for supporting a southern presidency.
He said "I know he (Tinubu) has sense enough to know how he got here - for him not to disappoint Nigerians. All those people protesting they're wasting their time. It's better an election is not announced - the moment that election is announced, you're only jabbering. Just running your mouth"
