Ahead of Nigeria's 61st independence Day, the Osun State Command of the Nigerian Police has assured residents of state that the police has put in place stringent and adequate security tentacles to ensure a peaceful celebration.
According to the press release, Olokode stated that in his efforts to safeguard the life and properties of the citizenry of the state before, during and after the celebration of Nigeria's 61st independence Day celebration, all police tactical and response squads which included Police mobile force 39 and safer highway patrol team have been lectured to exhibit all acts of professionalism and observe human rights.
Olokode while reiterating the commitment of the Command to work earnestly to protect lives and properties of the good people of the state also revealed that they have been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the state to provide security coverage for this special assignment and beyond.
The Police Commissioner who congratulated the people of the state enjoined them to be security conscious, as criminally minded people might disguise under the celebration to carry out their evil act.
In his words, "Members of the public are urged to cooperate and collaborate with the personnel deployed for this assignment. The youths should shun any form of protests or demonstration targeted at destabilising or paralysing the socio-economic or political equilibrium of the state.
