Super Eagles Are In Good Shape - Rohr Happy With Team Ahead Of World Cup Qualifiers

Gernot Rohr, the coach of the Super Eagles, has expressed delight with the team as they prepare to face Liberia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

The Eagles are currently in Tangier, Morocco, where the Lone Star plays their home games, and held their first practice session on Tuesday, with 21 players participating.

Victor Osimhen, Odion Ighalo, and goalkeeper John Noble were absent from the training because they had yet to come to camp, but Rohr was pleased with what he saw and believes the squad is in fine shape to face Liberia.

Rohr reported that they had 21 players, including two goalkeepers. They are still missing three players who will arrive on Wednesday, but it [first training] was a good session, Rohr told NFF TV following the training session.

Rohr said the players are in a good mood, they had to be cautious about injuries, but everything went smoothly. They were in good shape and had some wonderful goals; he noted.

Following their match against Liberia on Saturday, the Super Eagles, who top Group D, will return to Lagos for their last group game against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday.
