Symptoms And Treatment Of Shingles Disease In The Body

According to "WebMD", Shingles are a viral infection that causes a painful rash. Although shingles can arise anywhere on your body, it most frequently appears as a single stripe of blisters that wraps around either the left or the right side of your torso.

Shingles are caused by varicella zoster virus (VZV), the same virus that causes chickenpox. After a person recovers from chickenpox, the virus keeps up dormant (inactive) in the body. The virus can reactivate later, causing shingles.

Most people will only get shingles once in their life. The pain and the rash resolve in 3 to 5 weeks, and the blisters don't leave scars. There are a few difficulties that can happen. The most common difficulty of shingles is post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN).

Symptoms of shingles

. Discomfort areas: in the skin

. Skin: blister, scab, ulcers, or redness

. Sensory: oversensitivity or pins and needles

.Also common: painful red blister rash in linear distribution, burning sensation, fatigue, or itching.

Medications for shingles

Treatments include pain relief and antiviral medication such as aciclovir or valaciclovir. A chickenpox vaccine in childhood or a shingles vaccine in an adult can underestimate the risk of developing shingles.
