The leadership of the Labour Party has said that its candidate for the Lagos State Governorship election, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) was still in the political race and is not stepping down for his counterpart from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. AbdulAzeez Adediran popularly known as ' Jandor '.
This was made known in a statement recently released by the State's Publicity Secretary, Olubunmi Odesanya while reacting to speculations flying around that both parties would form an alliance.
The statement partly reads: " Our attention has again been drawn to the lies allegedly being spread by the PDP candidate and his team of media liars that the candidate of our great party stepped down for him. What Jandor is doing now is trying to steal from the owner. For the avoidance of any doubts, our candidate is in the race and has not entered into any alliance with anybody. Also, LP did not enter into any portfolio sharing formula with any party. Lagosians should please disregard the fake news. We appreciate your support and wish to reiterate that our candidate is still very much in the race and with your support, he would be elected as the governor in tomorrow’s election".
