When you have sickle cell disease, you will experience periods of intense pain that you cannot bear. As much as possible, you want to avoid that suffering, that crisis. You want to live a better life, and the best way to achieve it is to make your crises less severe.
Make sure you drink enough water to avoid being dehydrated when it comes to your lifestyle. Increase your physical activity gradually. To avoid becoming exhausted, get enough rest and don't overdo physical activities. You don't want to go from being a couch potato to a high-intensity workout.
Extremes of temperature, such as being too hot or too cold, should be avoided. Sickle cell discomfort is provoked by a variety of factors, including air conditioning and swimming in a chilly pool. In addition to these vital lifestyle changes, remembering medications is critical to maintaining a healthier lifestyle and controlling pain crises. When something unexpected happens, try to be calm and keep your emotional tension to a minimum.
