Why Is Poverty In The North More Important To Obi, Does Poverty Have Tribal Identity?- Felix Morka

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives, Felix Morka has taken a quick swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News, the APC chieftain wondered why Peter Obi is so concerned about the eradication of poverty in the northern part of the country.

During the interview, Felix Morka said while serving as governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi did not eradicate poverty from the state.

Recall that during the 2023 electioneering campaign, one of Peter Obi's campaign promises is that if elected as president, he will ensure that poverty is eradicated from the northern part of the country.

While lambasting Peter Obi in the interview, Felix Morka argued that Peter Obi is trying to exploit the vulnerabilities of people from the northern part of the country.

He said Peter Obi should be more concerned about eradicating poverty in the place he comes from instead of focusing on the north unless, he wants to say that poverty has a tribal identity.

Felix Morka said "He (Peter Obi) made statements about how if he was elected president or if he has the opportunity, he will begin to tackle poverty from the north. The same thing he has done with our young people, he is also doing with the north. There's poverty in Anambra state. When acting as governor, he did not eradicate poverty in Anambra state, there is still gaping poverty in his own state. Why the north? Does poverty have a tribal identity? Why is the poverty in the north more important to him (Peter Obi) than the one perhaps in his own backyard?"
