Barcelona returned to action in the 2021–2022 Champions League season as they faced Portuguese side Benfica in the second to last group game of the season.
The Spanish club now has a tough task to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage, as they have to win away at Bayern Munich in Germany to have a chance to qualify, but if they draw or lose, they will hope that Benfica will either draw or lose their final group match against Dynamo Kyiv. The big question is, will Barcelona avoid dropping into the Europa League, as they may finish 3rd in the group, or will they find a way to progress in Germany?
The records are not on Barcelona's side, as they have lost 2-8 and 3-0 in their last two meetings with the German team. Barcelona have managed to score only 2 goals in the Champions League this season and are on 7 points, while Benfica are 3rd with 5 points.
