2023: IGBO PRESIDENCY WOULD HEAL CIVIL WAR WOUND
According to the Vanguard, a former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and former governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, has said that the South-East geopolitical zone should be given a chance to produce the president of Nigeria in 2023.
He noted that the opportunity for the president coming from the east would be “the master stroke to end marginalization and all grievances” in the zone.
He said: “The leadership of the Igbo, irrespective of party platform must come together, and negotiate with the two major political parties in the country, to zone the presidency to the South-East. They should also negotiate with other tribes and political groupings to be sympathetic to the Igbo ambition of securing the presidential seat in 2023", as reported by the Vanguard.

Speaking at the inauguration of Belusochukwu Enwere as the new national chairman of its Christian Association of Nigeria, Youth Wing (YOWICAN), at the weekend in Abuja, Dr. Samson Ayokunle, the President of CAN, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to seek help from Israel, the United States and other countries in the fight against insurgency, kidnapping, banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in Nigeria.
Speaking through his representative, Apostle Biodun Sanyaolu, who is the Assistant General Secretary of CAN said: “It’s very obvious that Nigeria needs assistance. I am not President Muhammadu Buhari, but I am sure that he’ll also be worried.
KADUNA STATE: GUNMEN KILLS 19 PERSONS
According to Naija News, Gunmen raided over 30 communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state. The bloody attack across the communities left no fewer than nineteen persons dead.
The attack around Kutemeshi Village Of Kuyello District In Birnin-Gwari happened around 5pm, yesterday, Naija News reports.
However, the Head of the Youth in the community lamented the non availability of security personnel even after calls were put to them. He said:“We called severally for security reinforcement, but only a handful of volunteer-vigilantes came to our rescue around 7.00 pm, after the bandits had fled to bush. In fact, it was today (Sunday) that armed security finally stormed our community."
