Ahead of their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday, Arsenal will unfortunately have to cope without the services of the injured Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazil international suffered an ankle injury following a challenge from Seagulls midfielder, Moises Caicedo in their previous match. Reports indicate that the highly-rated attacker will b sidelined for the London based outfit final two games of the season, requiring several weeks to recover.
Joining Martinelli on the treatment table are long-term knee injury victims Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny. Additionally, William Saliba, dealing with a back problem, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, nursing a calf injury, are expected to watch the the stands
In Martinelli's absence, Leandro Trossard would typically be the primary candidate to fill the void. However, the Belgian's cameo appearance in the 3-0 defeat against his ex-club didn't go as planned.
On the other hand, Reiss Nelson displayed a promising performance in the second half. Nonetheless, it is likely that Trossard will be given the green light to join Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka in the first eleven.
Granit Xhaka was reported to be close to sealing a move away from the Emirates with Bayer Leverkusen in advanced discussions, but the Swiss international is expected to start what could potentially be his second-to-last game for the North Londoners.
Meanwhile, Martin Odegaard will once again captain the Gunners, assuming leadership on the pitch.
Despite delivering a couple of positive performances in the defensive midfield role, Jorginho could be replaced by the returning Thomas Partey, as the former only managed to last an hour in the recent defeat to Roberto De Zerbi's men.
Considering Saliba and Zinchenko's injuries, the defensive line is anticipated to consist of Kieran Tierney and Jakub Kiwior, alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, Ben White, and Aaron Ramsdale.
