Manchester United are close to signing Lisandro Martinez from Ajax with sources saying that the deal could be completed by tomorrow.

Executives from the club had been in contact with Ajax since yesterday after their £42.5m bid for the player was rejected by the club and talks are said to have progressed positively between the two parties with Edwin Van Der Saar playing an important role in the discussions.

And just an hour ago, Fabrizio Romano shared some more insights into the deal where he stated that Manchester United executives had returned to England in order to get final approval by the board on payment terms and agreement for Lisandro Martinez.
