FG to commence health coverage for vulnerable citizens

According to the Federal Government, there will soon be 83 million underprivileged Nigerians covered by the Universal Health Coverage program, which will be affordable and accessible.

Boss Mustapha, the secretary to the government of the federation, revealed this to a group from the World Health Organization that included Dr. Walter Mulombo Kazadi, the country representative, and Prof. Mohammed Nasir Sambo, the executive secretary of the National Health Insurance Authority.

According to the SGF, President Major General Muhammadu Buhari's enactment of the National Health Insurance Authority Bill signified a new era for the health sector by making universal health care available to the most vulnerable citizens throughout the entire nation.

These were mentioned in a statement released on Wednesday by Willie Bassey, the Office of the SGF's Director of Information.

"In May of this year, we had the President sign the bill; now that it has been made into an act, we must first construct the agency that will administer the universal health insurance coverage to take care of the 83 million vulnerable you stated. Furthermore, to oversee the general management of insurance coverage throughout the entire nation. Because of the out-of-pocket costs incurred during treatment, one of the multiplier impacts of treating illnesses is the impoverishment of the families that are impacted.
