Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has said that the President feels fulfilled for the achievements he has recorded in his eight years in office, and that he is satisfied that he will be retiring home for the incoming President to build on the foundations he has laid. Channels Television reported that Garba Shehu said this when he appeared on its station's Sunday Politics.
He said - "The President feels fulfilled. He has done exceptionally well as best as he can in the circumstances in which he has found himself. He is satisfied going home for the next President to contribute and build on the foundations he has laid."
Speaking further, Shehu said that when President Buhari leaves office, Nigerians will appreciate him for the sacrifices he made for the nation.
Barring no judicial intervention, President Buhari will be handing over power to the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on May 29th, which is just a few days from now. Just like previous administrations, Buhari's administration has had its own share of criticisms, but members of his cabinet have continued to maintain that he has done his best for Nigeria. Nigerians are waiting patiently to see what the next administration has to offer the country.
