The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has reiterated that he did not steal money from the state and send it to Dubai.

El-Rufai additionally urged his predecessors to officially affirm that they had never embezzled money from the state coffers.

The former FCT Minister made this statement during a Hausa interview that was broadcast on a local radio and television station.
He said, "I am happy that we created high-quality roads that would last for years. Not the kind of roads they previously built, which would become poor after two years and two rainy seasons.
"There is still work to be done. All of Kaduna's roads are to be tarred, according to our plan.
The people can see that we completed those projects using the money we were able to acquire, he continued. We didn't take the money and buy houses in Dubai or travel to Jabi Road and erect a mansion there.
We're not like those individuals. With just one house on Danja Street in Unguwan Sarki Kaduna, I was elected governor of Kaduna State.
