Nigerian Returnees from Sudan Gifted N100,000 by Federal Government

The Federal Government of Nigeria has gifted the sum of N100,000 to Nigerian evacuees who returned from Sudan as a result of the ongoing crises.

The first batch of the evacuees numbering about 376 were airlifted from Aswan, Egypt, by the Nigerian Air force on Wednesday at about 4PM, and arrived the country last night. They were received by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development, Sadiya Farouk, Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa and other Federal Government delegates at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Upon their arrival, Sadiya Farouk who spoke with the evacuees assured them that the government will ensure they return safely back to their families, as she offered N100,000 each to aid their transportation. Other items offered to them included N25,000 worth of airtime and also 1.5 Gigabyte data, adding that a press conference on their return has been scheduled to hold on Thursday.
